SAHELI

Saheli is a non-steroidal oral contraceptive pill developed by CDRI Lucknow, based on Centchroman (generic name: Ormeloxifene), which belongs to the class of drugs called Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs). It is unique because it is taken once a week and works by modulating estrogen receptors in a tissue-specific way.

What Does “SERM” Mean?
