Cardiac Cycle

The cardiac cycle is the complete sequence of events in one heartbeat, involving contraction (systole) and relaxation (diastole) of the atria and ventricles. It ensures blood flows efficiently through the heart and to the rest of the body, typically lasting about 0.8 seconds at a resting heart rate of 75 bpm.
